The Mexican Papaya is a larger-sized variety and is one of the fastest growing tropical fruits available today. When ripe, it will turn a greenish-yellow color with shades of orange. Its flesh is firm and juicy. At its core are numerous round, shiny, inedible black seeds. Papaya has many nutritional values including vitamin C, vitamin A, iron, niacin, calcium, folate, riboflavin, thiamine, potassium, fiber, and it contains a beneficial enzyme, papain, that aids in digestion.
